Bridge Builders Collaborate Leadership Council

July 1, 2023

Applications are OPEN for the 2023-2024 school year!

About BBCLC
The Bridge Builders COLLABORATE Leadership Council is comprised of dedicated, hardworking, and creative youth leaders who actively contribute to the COLLABORATE level of programming. Members of BBCLC play a crucial role in internal program development, community outreach, student recruitment, facilitation, and event planning throughout the year. They work collaboratively with BRIDGES staff to strengthen and represent the voice of the youth.

The BBCLC convenes twice a month, either virtually or in person, on Sundays from 3:30pm-5pm. However, this commitment extends beyond the scheduled meeting times! Students actively participate in:

  • Large-scale events at BRIDGES
  • Facilitation of spring/fall training
  • Team building activities
  • Thank-a-thons (expressing gratitude to our donors)
  • Parent orientations
  • Bridge Builders congratulatory phone calls
  • Planning an elective for COLLABORATE students

Qualities of a Strong Candidate
Students who are interested in serving on the council must currently be in 7th-12th grade and enrolled in the Bridge Builders COLLABORATE program level. They should possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine passion for Bridge Builders. Additionally, students should have a desire to enhance their leadership skills and excel in a team environment. The Council actively engages in various activities throughout the school year at BRIDGES, so students should be prepared to demonstrate flexibility.

Bridge Builders COLLABORATE Leadership Council Timeline:

Applications are due by 11:59pm on Sunday, August 20th.

Interviews will be conducted on Zoom on Saturday, August 27th.

Selected council members will be notified of their acceptance on Wednesday, August 30th.

All council members are required to attend the weekend Orientation in September. Detailed information will be provided in the selection email.

Every student counts.

Young people are born with creativity and passion to lead. BRIDGES has worked with thousands of students to unlock that potential and activate new generations of leaders across Memphis.
