BRIDGES builds a community of leaders to advance
racial, economic, educational and environmental justice.

Right now…

...  somewhere in the city of Memphis -  there's a high school student who is becoming a leader...a young single mother is admiring her GED diploma and applying for college...a formerly unemployed adult with new skills and confidence is smiling as he or she shows up for work...a child is becoming a peacemaker...a middle-school student with a newfound passion for the environment is convincing his parents to turn off the lights and recycle...a group of co-workers is marveling at what they can accomplish when they work as a team.

For nearly 90 years, BRIDGES has been making a difference in Memphis one life at a time, one bridge at a time. Today BRIDGES serves more than 15,000 youth and adults - individuals who are learning, leading and lifting up our community. And there's a place for you at BRIDGES.

BRIDGES needs YOU in 2010!

BRIDGES has launched a campaign to increase donors by 100 percent by June 30. Sound tough - not when we make use of the Power of 10. Become a donor today through BRIDGES to the Power of 10 and then share the BRIDGES message with 10 friends. If we reach our goal we'll receive an additional $100,000 from an anonymous donor! Check it out!

Mission Accomplished-O2E!

At the end of 2008, BRIDGES set a lofty goal:  to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Memphis by 10 million pounds by 2010 with its new program Ordinary to Extraordinary: Learning and Leading Green. After a year of engaging programs and over 1,500 participants, we reached the goal for the O2E Challenge.  O2E participants have reduced gge in Memphis by 10,682,908 pounds. Join us in celebrating this great accomplishment!  There is still more work to be done to ensure a greener and more sustainable Memphis, so let's all keep up the good work.  Stay tuned for our O2E Challenge for 2010.  Sign up to take the O2E Challenge.
