Bridge Builders® turning 20!

Bridge Builders® is marking 20 years this year! That's two decades of helping young people discover the capacity to learn, accept, change and become leaders. And that's definitely something to celebrate! Pencil in the last weekend of May, when BRIDGES will host a luncheon, an alumni mixer and a Red Carpet Celebration - complete with the premier of an original documentary film on this remarkable program. Click here to learn more, buy tickets or become a sponsor of the event.

Bridge Builders®

Founded by community leader Rebecca Webb Wilson in 1988, the Bridge Builders program brought together 40 students from two schools - Briarcrest and Northside - in its first year.

Today, the program serves roughly 1,500 high school students each year from more than 50 public, private and parochial schools across the Memphis area and is being replicated in Montgomery, Alabama.

Bridge Builders seeks to develop a group of future leaders who will lay aside individual, social, economic and cultural differences to work for the benefit of all. Participants build the skills necessary to improve their self-confidence, strengthen their relationships, succeed in school and take action to build a healthy community - all while concentrating on three focus points - diversity appreciation, community action and leadership.

Bridge Builders ® celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2008!
